Rustic Green (Seagrass) Limestone

Rustic Green Limestone is one of the limestone varieties with the most unique surface to be found in natural stone quarries in Turkey and it is known as Seagrass Limestone.

Rustic green is a limestone that comes from the quarries of Turkey. This green marble reflects the most enviable shades of green in its structure.

This rustic green marble was created by the deposition of layers of lime that were subsequently petrified. This natural stone contains lime from crustaceans, coral and the like.

These fossils range in size from a drop of water to the size of a palm. These fossils are mainly accentuated by surface treatments such as burning and pickling.

The rich fossil content in the rock and the orientation in their arrangement indicate that the formation environment is not a “lacustrine” but a “marine” environment. Due to the high pressure created by the marine formation environment, this stone exhibits much superior strength and durability compared to other limestones.

With the widespread homogeneity, another characteristic created by the same marine environment, rustic green marble can be processed even in dimensions larger than 1 meter.

The surface of this natural stone with the densely placed green tones makes us think of nature itself. That is why Rustic Green marble, like nature, has a universe of different application areas.

As a prominent natural stone, Rustic Green Marble is supplied by cut-to-size tiles. It is possible to finish the surface of this natural stone in polished, aged, honed, brushed and various other treatments.
